Bart's Bash - World's Largest Sailing Event - Sunday 21 September 2014

Published 08:29 on 12 Sep 2014

Minima Yacht Club and Thames Sailing Club have both registered to take part in Bart’s Bash, the largest sailing event in the world on Sunday 21st September 2014 in aid of the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation Charity: www.bartsbash.co.uk

The clubs have decided to combine forces in order to give the best chance to get 25 boats on the water, which we need to qualify for the Guinness World Record attempt. We will be racing against 570 clubs in 50 different countries and against Yachts, dinghies and windsurfers.

The race will take place at Minima Yacht Club, starting at 11:30 hours on Sunday 21st September and the course will be a minimum of 1000meters and will last 45-60 minutes. Our normal Sunday racing schedule will be amended for the day and the Bart's Bash race will count as a result in our Autumn series.

We'd love all club members to be part of this so please see the PDF attached on how to register and take part.
