  • Vice Commodore's Update - 5 May 2014

Hello Everyone.  There has been a fair turn out for racing over the last couple of weeks, however it could be much better, I counted 11/12 Merlins (give or take) on the lower hard last Sunday...wrapped in canvas. Wouldn't it be great if we could get them all on the start line this weekend? Osprey has been sailing and now Wings too. Lady Jane is in the water and the shed

  • Racing Report - April 14

Well, last Sunday saw Chris M and Saul sail to victory in blustery conditions....the competition spent time removing barnacles from its hull....we shall say no more!.... This week saw the return of Tuesday night sailing. The weather was and sunny which made the beer afterwards thirst quenching. The wind was enjoying the warmth too and was far to relaxed to do much blowing..... Chris M and Nicki and I managed to get round mark A

    Sunday Spring Series 2

Well, 3 boats popped up for the mornings racing. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the wind! At the start Scott and I got dragged off to Minima by the stream and had to be rescued and towed over the line… errr humm… I mean dropped off just before the line…. Whilst Chris Martin and Saul, Nick Hoskins and Stephan gently floated up the surrey bank for about 5m before stopping. We

Sunday 23rd March Fitting Out Trophy Event

Sunday morning 23rd March. Cold, Cloudy and a bit dim, the lower hard had a few tumbleweeds flying about, then surprise surprise 4 Merlins popped out their covers and prepared themselves for racing. The race officers set a dog leg course which was seen as a little controversial whilst Brian did some ferrying about with the B mark that kept drifting off because of the stream, but a couple of extra weights soon fixed it.
