Bart's Bash - Sunday 20th September 2015
Published 09:50 on 4 Sep 2015
Thames Sailing Club and Minima Yacht Club have again joined forces to take part in Bart's Bash, the largest sailing event in the world
We've decided once more to combine forces following on from our participation in last year's record-breaking Guinness World Record race. We will be racing against over 400 clubs in 50 different countries and against yachts, dinghies and windsurfers.
The race will take place at Thames Sailing Club starting at 11:30 hours on Sunday 20th September. The start line will be at TSC and the race will be visible along Queen's Promenade, finishing back at TSC for prize giving and refreshments. The course will be a minimum of 1000 metres measured by GPS and will last approximately 4560 minutes.
By entering the race now, we will get an idea as to the number of people who intend to race on the day and it will also give us a good representation on the Bart's Bash website.
The event is a fundraiser for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, http://andrewsimpsonfoundation.co.uk/ and they would welcome any donations from anyone on the day.
