Thames Sailing Club Training Courses

RYA Approved Training Centre

Thames Sailing Club is recognised by the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) as a Training Centre where Adults and Juniors can learn to sail or race, and gain nationally recognised RYA certificates if they achieve the assessed standards.

Anyone and everyone can learn to sail, young and old, whether they are sporty or not. It is not very expensive to learn, and you don't need your own boat or have very much specialist clothing or kit to get started.

Please note that if an applicant is under 16 a responsible adult must be in attendance most of the time) See Joining Instructions below for more details.

If you are interested please contact Stuart Gurney for more details. You can download the application form.

Child Beginners

Children must be over ten, and should be robust to learn to sail so early in the year. We will probably use Oppies, but if the weather is difficult, hope to have a crewed boat available. Smaller and more timid children are welcomed on to our course at the end of the Summer Holidays, when the water is warmer, the wind is less scary and the Toppers may be available!
