Sally Receives RYA AwardSally and HRH!

On the 22nd of November our very own Sally Reed was awarded a prestigious RYA Community Lifetime Committment Award, presented at the RYA AGM by HRH the Princess Royal. To quote the posting on the RYA website:-

"This has been a journey of total personal commitment for Sally. It is not a case of influencing, she has led the whole process with determination and great personal charm. It is completely without exaggeration to say that without her pioneering spirit and strength of character there would not be a sail training centre at Thames Sailing club, and over 200 trainees would not have undertaken courses at the club. Initially not all members were convinced that the project would succeed, but Sally’s determination and her ability to relate to the needs of each individual student has succeeded in winning the hearts and minds of the full membership, such that the Training Centre is now an integral part of the commercial and social success of the club. She is equally at home mentoring children or adults, and handles each case with great care and sensitivity to the students needs. In the sailing community that she knows and works in Sally is deeply admired and respected for her total commitment to professionalism, her knowledge of the correct procedures and huge quantities of common sense".

A Richly deserved accolade - well done and thank you Sally!
