The Tortola Spring Regatta

TSC Takes on some tough competiton in the Tortola (bvi) Spring RegattaVice Commodore and brother Ron taking in the sunTed Cocker on the square rigger

Stuart Gurney, Julian Smith and Ted Cocker (and non TSC Jennie King - Merlin Rocket champion crew) went to the BVI Spring Regatta and sailed in an IC 24 which is a J24 with the cabin cut off and decks added for day sailing/racing.A very competitive fleet were racing, Julian on the helm did very well - beating amongst other crack teams, the Swedish Americas cup team on several occasions, and a sprinkling of 2nds. 3rds 4ths etc in the 16 races in 3 days. We had a first but we were OCS by about 6" no point in going back, all the boats finished within about 3 minutes. If only Jules had a proper crew, who knows what may have happened. A full report will be forthcoming, but for now here are few pics of the other activities!Ted after late night swim and many rum punchesJulian in the rigging
