Thames Sailing Club
On Wednesday the 4th July, during a gap in the global raining, four volunteer Rater helms, organised by the Vice Commodore, took part in a charity event by auctioning a day's sail on their beautiful boats between Kingston and Hampton Court Bridges. There was a sumptuous lunch, set up by our beautiful sailing secretary on the banks opposite the Palace. Several hundred pounds were raised for the charity, as much champagne was drunk and the loveliest comment from our guests was "what a wonderful day, and with such happy people".
In conclusion, our entertainment skills are outstanding, we can pull a corporate day out of a hat, and most remarkable of all, our helms can be charming and cheerful!
